It’s nice to get client testimonials like this!
Our Board of Directors needed to get a firm plan to rebuild our organization after a major funding loss. Susan planned and led a strategic planning session using graphic facilitation. Her style of moderating gave us the opportunity we needed to discuss the concepts and vision at the heart of our organization, while keeping us on track and on topic in a gentle, supportive way.
The use of graphics that Susan created during our session not only proved to be an invaluable tool and resource during the session but in visualizing the organization’s future. The graphics, when reviewing our plan after the fact, will prompt us to reference our ideas and goals. The tool of visuals will serve to enhance discussion and further brainstorm future possibilities for the organization. Susan’s energy and positivity were very welcome in her facilitation. We are grateful to Susan for her support during the transition of the organization.
from Susan Noakes, Board Member, Victoria Family Violence Prevention Society. Here are two of the charts from their meeting:
- This graphic opened up the discussion of what the group wanted to achieve.
- A traditional SWOT analysis portrayed visually. Someone mentioned being “in a holding pattern” and someone else said “we’re on the runway” and the airplane/airport metaphors just “took off” from there.

Last year, I taped a Leadership Victoria conference where graphic facilitation was used and I taped the charts in progress and at the end. By taping the charts, they can be viewed more easily than from photographs, and the viewer can pause the action and read the charts. It meant that the organization had a permanent record and did not need to retain the charts themselves.
