My name is Susan Low. I am the principal consultant and owner of Directis Consulting Group, located in Victoria, British Columbia.
I have been working as a freelance or independent consultant for fourteen years, following an unusual and always interesting career trajectory. The areas I’ve worked in include technical writing, marketing, web design, occupational safety, training, and even head-hunting. Along the way I’ve enjoyed getting to know a really broad range of industries – government, industrial ship building, textile distribution, electrical utilities, software development, arts and tourism… the list goes on.
In December 2008 I took a workshop called “Meeting Graphics 101″ which introduced me to the world of graphic facilitation, and it was like a huge light turned on in my life. Through this catalyst I’ve decided to get much more bold about my career – hence my dive head-first into social media – and also start sharing more publicly some of my thoughts and theories about how people work and communicate in organizations and how to make work a better place.
I’m an entrepreneur, a wife, a mother, a friend, an athlete, but above all else – I am a thinker.

What a great site! I’m really enjoying reading it. Wish you all the best in your work.
Urgent! Our association, BC Association of Facilitators is having their first education day next Thursday, April 29th. The graphic facilitator we had booked cancelled because of an emergency – her mother is gravely ill. I am wondering if you would be available to facilitate the session. I realize this is short notice; it is a bit late for us to cancel the session so if you can assist please let me know as soon as possible. We can then talk of the phone for clarity and expectations. thanks very much
